Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They're used for many purposes — from keeping you logged in to tracking your behavior across the web for advertising. Chrrp only uses cookies for the first purpose.
We do not use cookies to track you, profile you, or serve you targeted advertising. Our ad targeting is contextual — based on the topic you're reading, not on who you are. No cookie required.
02
Chrrp uses exactly two cookies. Both are strictly necessary to operate the platform. Neither can be disabled without breaking the product.
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| chrrp_session | Strictly necessary | 30 days (rolling) | Keeps you logged in. Contains an encrypted session token — not your password or personal data. Refreshes each time you use the platform. Deleted when you sign out. |
| chrrp_csrf | Strictly necessary | Session | Cross-site request forgery protection. Prevents malicious websites from making requests to Chrrp on your behalf without your knowledge. Deleted when you close your browser. |
That is the complete list. We review it every time we make changes to the platform. If we ever add a cookie, this policy will be updated before it is set.

Not on Chrrp — ever
04
In addition to cookies, Chrrp may use your browser's local storage to save UI preferences — for example, whether you've dismissed a notice or your last-viewed tab. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or anyone else. It is not a cookie and is not transmitted to our servers.
05
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser allows you to view, delete, and block cookies. However, blocking the two cookies Chrrp uses will prevent you from staying logged in — the platform will still work but you'll need to sign in every time you visit.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
06
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal requesting that websites not track your behavior. Because Chrrp does not track users in the first place, the DNT signal has no practical effect — we treat everyone the same regardless of whether DNT is enabled.
07
You may have noticed Chrrp doesn't show a cookie consent banner. Under GDPR and the EU ePrivacy Directive, consent banners are required for non-essential cookies — advertising, analytics, and tracking. Because Chrrp uses only strictly necessary cookies, no consent is required and no banner is shown.
We believe cookie banners exist to normalize surveillance by making it seem like a choice. Our choice is to not surveil you in the first place.
08
If we ever add a cookie — which we will try hard not to do — we will update this policy before setting it and notify you as described in our Privacy Policy. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
