Questions? privacy@gochrrp.com

The short version — plain English
We collect only what we need to run the platform — your email, username, and what you post.
We never sell your data to anyone, ever.
Ads are targeted by topic only — never by who you are, what you've searched, or where you've been.
We don't track you across other websites or apps.
You can download all your data or delete your account at any time.
We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use third-party tracking pixels. We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers.

The full policy below has the legal details. If anything in the short version and the full policy conflict, the full policy controls. If you have questions, email us.

01

Who we are

Chrrp is operated by Chrrp LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. When this policy says "Chrrp," "we," "us," or "our," it means Chrrp LLC.

Chrrp is a text-only social platform at gochrrp.com. This policy covers everything that happens when you use the platform — signing up, posting, reading, and everything in between.

02

What we collect and why

We collect the minimum needed to run the platform. Here is exactly what that is:

Account information. Your email address, username, and password (hashed — we cannot read it). Required to create and secure your account.
Profile information. Your display name, bio, and location, if you choose to add them. Optional. You can leave all of these blank.
Content you post. Posts, replies, echoes, and faves. This is the product — it lives on our servers and is publicly visible unless you delete it.
Technical data. IP address, device type, and browser, collected automatically when you use the platform. Used for security, spam prevention, and rate limiting. Not used for advertising.
Subscription data. If you subscribe to Chrrp Plus, we collect billing information through Stripe. We do not store your card number — Stripe handles payment processing and their privacy policy applies to that data.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your location beyond what you voluntarily put in your profile. We do not collect information about what other websites you visit. We do not collect demographic data beyond what you tell us.

03

How we use your information

We do not use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. There is no algorithm deciding what you see — your feed is strictly chronological.

04

Advertising

Chrrp shows sponsored posts in the feed. Here is exactly how the targeting works and doesn't work:

What we use for ad targeting:The topic or hashtag of the content you're reading at the moment an ad is shown. That's it.
What we never use: Your identity, your history, your IP address, your device, your location, your demographics, or any data from outside Chrrp.

We do not place tracking pixels, cookies, or scripts for advertisers. Advertisers do not receive any personal data about who saw or clicked their ads — only aggregate impression counts.

We never run political advertising. No exceptions.

Chrrp Plus subscribers see no advertising at all.

05

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. The limited cases where we share data are:

06

Public content

Everything you post on Chrrp — posts, replies, echoes, your profile — is public by default. Anyone can read it, link to it, or share it. Search engines may index it.

When you delete a post, it is removed from the platform and will no longer be served to users. Cached copies may persist in search engines or third-party archives that we do not control. We cannot guarantee removal from those sources.

Your following list is publicly visible. Your faves are private — only you can see them on your profile.

07

How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

08

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights with respect to your data:

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. To exercise any right, email privacy@gochrrp.com. We respond within 30 days.

09

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: passwords are hashed with bcrypt, data is encrypted in transit via TLS, and access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

No security system is perfect. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by applicable law.

You can help protect your account by using a strong, unique password and signing out of shared devices.

10

Children

Chrrp is not intended for anyone under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email privacy@gochrrp.com and we will delete it promptly.

11

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies strictly necessary to operate the platform — your session token (so you stay logged in) and a CSRF token (security). We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

12

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy — meaning changes that affect your rights or how we use your data — we will notify you by email and post a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Minor changes (fixing typos, clarifying language without changing substance) may be made without notice. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Continued use of Chrrp after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
